Jonathan Manheim, M.D. has had an article published

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jonathan Manheim of High Street Hospitalist Services has co-authored an article entitled

"Health Care Disparities in the Acute Management of Venous Thromboembolism Based on Insurance Status in the U.S."

in the Journal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis, November 2011 (Volume 32, Issue 4, pp. 393-398.)

The abstract reveals that "acute venous thromboembolism (VTE) is common, costly, and potentially lethal." Therapeutic anticoagulation requires timely and closely monitored medical follow-up. If treatment proves ineffective, clinical outcomes worsen and costs increase. The authors conclude that this risk may be magnified in uninsured patients.
