P/SL Dieticians LE BANH and ELIZABETH PANTER are published!
Le Banh,MS,RD,CNSD and Elizabeth Panter,RD, CNSD, P/SL dieticians, co-authored an excellent article entitled "Barriers to Enteral Nutrition in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Patients" recently published in the August 2008 issue of Support Line (Vol 30, #4, pp 3-8). The article explains that patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) face a number of gastrointestinal complications from their treatments that are difficult to resolve. They go on to conclude that Enteral Nutrition (EN) may be beneficial pretransplant, but that Parenteral Nutrition (PN) is better after HSCT.
