Ever notice those 8 or 10 digit numbers in your citations in PubMed? They're called PubMed IDs or PMIDs for short. Put one into the middle search box on our homepage and find out if we have the article in full text or in print at the library! It's just that simple.
It also works for a Digital Object Identifier or DOI. A DOI is a combination of letters, numbers and other symbols and it looks a lot like a web address. Here's an example from an article in Circulation: "10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.107.189185". Fortunately, it is usually found after the prefix "DOI:" so you know what it is. It us often found at the beginning of an article in full text, so look for it when you pick up a paper copy of a journal.
