Clinical Evidence - Online at DML

We recently renewed our subscription to the decision-support tool Clinical Evidence from BMJ Publishing. Please note - Because our provider has changed, so has the process of accessing the resource: Go to http://www.denvermedlib.org/, and type "Clinical Evidence" in the Find a Journal box, and click Search. The resulting link will take you to the resource where you can then search for decision-support reviews on thousands of conditions.

Questions about using Clinical Evidence? Check out the Clinical Evidence user guide (PDF format - requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)

Important information for Ovid users!

Do you use Ovid to access MEDLINE and other databases through the Denver Medical Library? If so, you should know about important changes to the Ovid interface in the coming weeks:

On February 5th, Ovid will switch from it's current interface to "OvidSP". OvidSP adds a new feature called "Basic Search" which is based on natural language - sort of like Google - and aims to help a searcher find a few very relevant articles. It is not intended to replace the traditional Ovid searching method which uses subject headings, which is still the best way to conduct a rigorous literature search.

From February 5th on, when you go to Ovid your screen will default to the "Basic Search" mode, but you can quickly switch to the interface you are used to by clicking on the gray "Ovid Syntax" tab on the right. From there the only thing that will have changed are the colors, fonts and some of the layout of the original Ovid interface, but it will essentially work the same.

Questions? Comments on the new interface? Let us know by calling 303-839-6670 or emailing us at info@denvermedlib.org.
